The latest and greatest iPhone model – the iPhone 3G – has been out and about since mid 2008 and is still making a splash in mobile phone markets everywhere. The iPhone 3G was intended to take a bite out of the corporate mobile phone market dominated by the Blackberry, and seems to have done so nicely. The iPhone 3G brings about the latest in network technology and other new and improved features.
A longer lasting battery that can withstand up to 10 hours of talk, 6 hours of internet and 24 hours of audio playback is just one of many improvements the iPhone 3G offers over previous models.
Other impressive features of the iPhone 3G include enhanced functionality when it comes to searching for contacts, the ability to save images from your email, increased storage capacity from 8 GB to 16 GB, an assisted GPS, a scientific calculator, the iWork application, Mobile Me software and real 3D graphics.
While some features may have been improved, others surprisingly remain unchanged. One such item that falls into this category is the mere 2.0 mega pixel camera which did not avail any modifications despite extensive criticisms.
Another major lack of the iPhone 3G is that it still does not support Java applications, cannot send MMS messages and cannot record video without a third party application being installed.
