In order to compete with the music mobile phone market leaders, Sony Ericsson, Nokia have released a music-dedicated phone of their own, the Nokia 5130 Xpressmusic.
The cute and compact Nokia 5130 comes in either red or blue, immediately indicating that this phone is designed to target savvy Gen Y’s who are looking for a phone with a distinct edge. It offers nothing new in the way of its overall design being a solid shape with dimensions of 103.8 x 44.7 x 9.9 mm. It is a lightweight phone with a decent sized screen making it easy to read and view images.
Being a music phone, the Nokia 5130 has a few music-dedicated buttons on the side of the screen to make it easier to control and change your tracks and volume, mp3 player style. Below the screen is the keypad offering nothing other than a standard mobile phone style layout.
The Nokia 5130 has a few sound tech specs, including a 2 mega pixel camera with 4 x digital zoom. The music player supports a range of audio formats including MP3, AAC and a few more. The device has its own micro SD card but can be extended up to 4 GB. There’s also an FM radio, Bluetooth, GPRS and all the usuals including organiser, calendar, alarm and so on.
